Description of Pilot Program
Goal
Our education program is currently working on a project that aims to increase contraceptive use in low income women in Colorado and therefore decrease the unintended pregnancy rate through a partnership with a clinic in the Denver Health system.
Steps
To accomplish this we are implementing a community-based social marketing campaign that will educate women about their contraceptive choices through a series of advertising campaigns and outreach activities. In addition to the social marketing campaign our program will install a Health Educator at a clinic location to be available to women for contraceptive counseling. The campaign aims to organize community interest in the program and attempt to lure women into the clinic to speak with the health educator.
Plans for the Future
Future campaigns may include women living in rural and small town areas and campaigns to increase the part men play in contraceptive decision-making.
